MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Two off-duty Myrtle Beach Police officers saved a man having a heart attack in a gym parking lot on Tuesday. Officers Bryant Howland and Tyler Struckus saved the man’s life on Tuesday, Cpl.Thomas Vest, with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, says. Officer Howland was heading into Fitness Edge in the Carolina Forest area when he saw an elderly man, who appeared to possibly be having a “cardiac incident,” fall over onto his back in the parking lot, according to Cpl. Vest. Howland began CPR and requested help from Officer Struckus, who was inside the gym, as well as Horry County EMS. Both officers, and a Fitness Edge employee, continued CPR until EMS arrived. “Due to the quick actions of these team members and staff members, the man survived this event. Thank you to those involved for reacting quickly and taking care of our community,” Cpl. Vest also says. No information on the man’s condition is available. Need CPR?
