Do you believe this?

What is your Self Image?

According to our last post, children who had a positive upbringing were considered to have a healthy self esteem and made better choices in life compared to those that were not.

Does that mean that if you were one of those unfortunate kids, your life is a predetermined failure?   No!! Our last post arose a few controversial topics; as a result this post will give you more awareness into the topic.

If you were one of the readers who perceived your parent different after reading this, we hope it was for good and not bad. In other words, if you had a bad childhood, that means your parents or caretakers did not know any better. Even worst, they were probably treated worst than you.

The good news is, we can change!! The under 5 year old is a MYTH!! In his book “Evolve your Brain,” neuroscientist Dr. Joe Dispenza has spent decades studying the human mind―how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioral patterns over and over.

Evolve Your Brain presents this information in depth, while helping you take control of your mind, explaining how thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings―including ones that make you unhappy. And when you know how these bad habits are created, it’s possible to not only break these patterns, but also reprogram and evolve your brain, so that new, positive, and beneficial habits can take over.

To prove that we can rewire the brain, a study was done with a three groups of university students measuring their neural activity. Group 1 was asked to play the piano, group number 2 was asked to visualize playing the piano and group 3 was asked to just think about the piano. What happened? Group 1 and 2 had the same neural activity, which means that mentally doing something is as effective as actually doing it. The third group was not effective.

How does this tie into the “under 5 year old myth?” We can begin to see ourselves differently and the brain can be rewired, of course it requires more work and careful study and time compared to a healthy upbringing but it CAN be ATTAINED!.
